Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST), which accounts for 0.5% of all strokes, primarily affects younger individuals and results in mild to moderate disability. While the prognosis is generally positive and most patients survive, there is a risk of potential disability, which may be severe in approximately 13% of CVST cases. MLC901 (NeuroAiDTM II/NurAidTM II), a combination of natural herbal ingredients, was administered as an add-on to anticoagulant therapy. MLC901 was shown to be safe and improved the clinical status of three CVST cases as reported in a previous publication. As an update to this previous three-case report, we have seen another patient in the clinic with a history of prior CVST 1.5 years ago, with symptoms of severe and persistent headache. We decided to initiate MLC901 in this patient at a dose of two capsules three times a day for 3 months in addition to anticoagulant therapy. The headaches were relieved without any observed side effects. These four cases highlight the potential beneficial effects of MLC901 on CVST.
